Many enterprises which produce nonferrous metal waste or which are spe
cialized in nonferrous metal waste recovery services currently face de
cisions regarding domestic waste recovery or whether it is more practi
cable to choose much cheaper waste disposal alternatives abroad. Major
price differences within the European Community can be explained with
less stringent government control systems of other countries than Ger
many Furthermore compulsory Europeon Community environmental standards
ore not identically realized in every community. Severe consequences
may threaten waste producers and other involved parties in case of fai
lure where waste disposal was planned abroad. This is of particular im
portance in cases of abuse or non compliance which specific proceeding
s regulations. The current article gives an overview over the most imp
ortant regulations regarding transfrontier movement of recoverable sec
ondary row materials from lead accumulators in France, describes the a
dvisable stops of action, as well as consequences of public, civil and
criminal law in cases of non compliance.
