Mk. Thaung et A. Balakrishnan, A MODIFIED TECHNIQUE OF TUBELESS ANESTHESIA FOR MICROLARYNGOSCOPY ANDBRONCHOSCOPY IN YOUNG-CHILDREN WITH STRIDOR, Paediatric anaesthesia, 8(3), 1998, pp. 201-204
Sixty children including neonates and infants, with strider undergoing
investigations under general anaesthesia, were studied retrospectivel
y. General anaesthesia was induced using an inhalational technique wit
h halothane and was maintained with propofol infusion without the use
of tracheal intubation. The ages ranged from three days to two years a
nd five months. In most of the cases after propofol infusion, there wa
s a slight drop in blood pressure without change in heart rate. This m
odified technique was found to be satisfactory in most of the cases.
