The present report describes a case oi osteochondroma formation at the
left distal radial metaphysis in a 3-year-old warmblood stallion. The
horse displayed the typical clinical and radiographic symptoms of thi
s condition. The osteochondroma was subsequently removed surgically em
ploying a medial incisional approach to the carpal canal sheath. Gross
pathologic and histologic examination oi the extirpated bony process
confirmed the diagnosis oi osteochondroma. Follow-up 4 months postoper
atively revealed that the horse was no longer showing clinical symptom
s referable to the original disease.
