This article examines several types of injuries about the distal ulna
that appear in children. Ulnar styloid fractures are relatively common
and tend not to have the deforming potential of Salter-Harris-type in
juries. Physeal injuries with their potential for long-term growth imp
airment and functional Limitation are potentially the most serious. Ch
ronic stress injuries at the distal ulna, as seen in competitive gymna
sts, and chronic late disruption of the distal radio-ulnar joint are a
lso discussed.
