Abstract
The performance of hybrid multichannel AM/QAM fiber-optic transmission systems based on the subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) technique is sensi bly constrained by intermodulation distortions of the laser diode, whi ch must be suitably considered to select system parameters. In this le tter, an analytical model is proposed that leads to closed expressions for the power spectral densities of intrinsic dynamic distortions of a semiconductor laser.
