Abstract
Polycrystalline CoGa and Co0.58Ga0.42 intermetallic compounds and the Fe-Ga ahoy have been studied by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy. The two-hole bound state is absent in these materials, and the electron co rrelation effect is rather weak in CoGa and Co0.58Ga0.42 The observed valence band spectrum for CoGa agrees well with the band structure cal culation of Whittle er al. (J. Phys. F, 1982, 12, 303). The electronic specific heat coefficient for CoGa is estimated to be 3.5 mJ mol(-1) K-2. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
