SYSTEMS-THEORY AND ITS APPLICATION TO RESEARCH ON HUMAN-SEXUALITY

Systems theory has been applied and influential in a variety of discip lines. Within the field of human sexuality it has been used most often in the clinical areas of sexual dysfunction and abuse. In this articl e toe summarize the theory's historical roots and emergence; review ba sic assumptions, major concepts and theoretical applications; and eval uate its use and usefulness in human sexuality research.
