The scattered intensity from an inclusion-containing hemisphere with i
ts flat face on a perfectly reflecting surface is calculated within th
e framework of image theory. The cases of a hemispherical inclusion, o
f a spherical inclusion and of an inclusion composed of two mutually c
ontacting spheres are considered with the purpose of assessing to what
extent the optical properties of the host hemisphere are influenced b
y the presence of inclusions. Our results show that the morphology of
the inclusions has a noticeable effect on the dependence of the scatte
red intensity on the angle of observation.
