A hologram laminated into a windshield has an important application in
automotive head-up displays. In general, properties of these hologram
s change during processing. The changes of the diffraction properties
are characterized by the diffraction efficiency measurement. The photo
polymer hologram, which is sandwiched between a polyvinybutyral layer
and glass ply, is treated at high temperature up to 140 degrees C and
about 12.5 kg cm(-2) pressure, as used in a standard windscreen produc
tion process. The pressure effect on diffraction properties of windshi
eld laminated photopolymer holograms is investigated. Non-slanted and
slanted holograms are analysed and compared with the experimental data
.
