Abstract
A female cymothoid isopod, Livoneca sinuata, 10 mm total length, was f ound in the mantle cavity of a female sepiolid squid, Sepiola ligulata , 21.5 mm mantle long, caught in the Adriatic Sea The mantle of the sq uid was rotated about 110 degrees along the longitudinal body axis wit h respect to the head-arms complex. This is the first record of a cymo thoid isopod infesting a sepiolid squid and the first record of Livone ca sinuata infesting a cephalopod host.
