Abstract
After intravenous injections local and systemic reactions can occur. R egarding to local reactions thrombophlebitis and sterile venous phlebi tis are of most clinical interest. Particularly a sterile venous throm bosis can arise even if an injection was performed with all demanded v eterinary care. Systemic reactions like faulty intraarterial injection s or anaphylactic and anaphylactoid reactions are seldom and often occ ur unexpected, In contrast to that adverse effects of drugs belong to the main effects of medicaments and therefore can be expected. Anaphyl actic and anaphyloctoid reactions can be serious and can lead in Singl e cases till death, A survey of frequency and symptoms of incompatibil ity reactions is given. The therapy of such complications consists of intravenous injections of sympathomimetic drugs with alpha-adrenergic effects at once. Seen from the forensic point of view not only correct ly administered intravenous injection is of interest but also the indi cation of an intravenous application of drugs.
