A. Aranda et al., KINETIC-STUDY OF THE CH3O2+BR REACTION AT 298 K, Journal de chimie physique et de physico-chimie biologique, 95(5), 1998, pp. 963-972
The kinetics and mechanism of the reaction CH3O2 + Br --> products (1)
have been studied at 298 K using the discharge flow method with detec
tion of species by mass spectrometry. The rate constant obtained is :
k(1) = (4.4 +/- 0.4) x 10(-13) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1). The major and
likely unique channel leads to the formation of BrO. These results, w
hich are the first ones for this reaction, are compared with those of
the CH3O2 + Cl reaction.
