Salinity is a major problem for irrigated agriculture in many parts of
the world. Farmers face economic questions such as optimal water appl
ications for given irrigation water quality, reuse of drainage water,
reduction in income from using drainage saline waters and rate of mixi
ng good quality water. Crop yield response to water quality and quanti
ty is required to answer these questions. Therefore, this paper is con
cerned with estimating a set of production functions relating wheat yi
eld to initial soil salinity and water quantity and quality. Crop-wate
r production functions are estimated from experimental data from wheat
crop at Sampla village in Rohtak district of Haryana (India). (C) 199
