Abstract
(+/-)-Filiforminol and (+/-)-bromoether A, marine halogenated sesquite rpenes, were synthesized in a concise manner from 3-methylcyclopent-2- en-1-one using copper-catalyzed conjugate addition and subsequent meth ylation, epoxidation, and spontaneous cyclization as key synthetic ste ps.
