ADDITIONAL DITERPENE KETONES FROM HYPOESTES FORSKALEI

The aerial parts of Hypoestes forskalei yielded three new fusicoccane diterpene ketones, named deoxyhypoestenone, dehydrohypoestenone and hy poestene, The structure and relative stereochemistry of the diterpenes were based on H-1 and C-13 NMR data, mainly 2D NMR experiments, inclu ding H-1-H-1 long range COSY, H-1-C-13 long range HETCOR and H-1-H-1 N OESY correlations, as well as chemical derivation of deoxyhypoestenone to its corresponding 8(9)alpha-epoxy derivative.
