A NOVEL RETRODIHYDROCHALCONE FROM THE STEM BARK OF UVARIA-MOCOLI

Investigation of the ethyl acetate extract of the stem bark of Uvaria mocoli resulted in the isolation of the novel retrodihydrochalcone 2-h ydroxy-4,5,6-trimethoxydihydrochalcone together with the known flavono ids 2'-hydroxy-4',6'-dimethoxychalcone, 2'-hydroxy-4',5',6'-trimethoxy chalcone, 5,7-dimethoxyflavanone and 5,7,8-trimethoxyflavanone, the ox oaporphines lysicamine, liriodenine and isomoschatoline, benzoic acid and a mixture of sitosterol and stigmasterol.
