Abstract
Methylpiperitol, sitosterol, skimmianine, afzelin and quercitrin were isolated from the leaves of Zanthoxylum culantrillo, while the stem ba rk yielded (+)-methylpiperitol, sitosterol, lupeol, (+)-sesamin and th e new tetrahydrofuran lignan ethoxy-3',4'-methylenedioxy-7,9'-epoxylig nan-9-ol. Their structures were elucidated by NMR, including 2D techni ques and comparison with authentic samples. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
