S. Yamaguchi et H. Hamaguchi, FEMTOSECOND VISIBLE ABSORPTION STUDY OF EXCITED-STATE DYNAMICS OF 9-CIS RETINAL, Chemical physics letters, 287(5-6), 1998, pp. 694-700
Femtosecond time-resolved pump-probe absorption spectroscopy has been
used to study the photophysics and photochemistry of 9-cis retinal in
aerated hexane. Three excited singlet states (S-3, S-2, S-1) and the l
owest tripler start (T-1) have been identified by the SVD analysis of
the observed time-resolved absorption spectra. No evidence has been ob
tained for a 9-cis --> all-trans isomerization reaction pathway that c
ompletes in the excited singlet manifold. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.
