Abstract
Methods are presented for certifying standard samples of fissile mater ials having a 0.5-3-mg/cm(2)-thick layer of a fissile material. Method s of counting alpha particles and gamma photons are employed to certif y standard samples of uranium and neptunium, using alpha and gamma spe ctrometers and reference standard samples for which the number of nucl ei in the target-nuclide has been established by several independent m ethods.
