Ar. Maguire et al., RHODIUM-CATALYZED DECOMPOSITION OF ALPHA-DIAZOSULFOXIDES FORMATION OFALPHA-OXO SULFINES AS INTERMEDIATES, Tetrahedron letters, 39(22), 1998, pp. 3849-3852
Decomposition of alpha-diazosulfoxides using rhodium carboxylate or ca
rboxamide catalysts proceeds via a Wolff type rearrangement to form al
pha-oxo sulfine intermediates, which can be trapped as cycloadducts wi
th dienes. In the absence of a diene trap, dimerisation of the sulfine
intermediate is observed. (C), 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights
