Abstract
The paper describes the current status of management strategies of mun icipal solid waste, packaging material and waste requiring special sur veillance in Germany. The latest official data on production, composit ion as well as of recycling/utilisation, treatment and disposal option s are compiled. The main focus of the paper is the thermal treatment o f waste.
