Abstract
Reaction of 8,12-diethyl-2,3,7,13,17,18-hexamethylcorrole (1) with POC l3 in pyridine affords the first non-metal derivative of carrole; in t his compound, 2, the phosphorus is in a pentavalent state and is diffe rent from analogous complexes of porphyrins.
