Spin polarization P> 1% has been observed for K-37 fragments produced
in the reaction Ca-40+Be-9 at 500 MeV/nucleon. The polarization was me
asured as a function of fragment longitudinal momentum (Goldhaber dist
ribution). The experimental results are well described by a new Monte
Carlo-based model. The beta-decay half-life of K-35 was remeasured as
t(1/2)=178(8) ms. Using polarized K-35 fragments, the g factor g(exp)(
K-35)=0.24(2) was measured. The magnetic moments of isospin \T-z\=3/2
mirror pairs are discussed. [S0556-2813(98)03305-6].
