We report an unusual case of nummular keratopathy of the left eye in a
58-year-old woman with active Crohn's disease, presenting cole-anal a
nd joint symptoms. Spontaneously deer-eased bowel activity and local s
teroid treatement provided symptom relief and incomplete decrease in v
olume of subepithelial elevations. We discuss the clinical aspects, th
e epidemiologic factors, the pathogenic mechanisms and the treatment o
f keratopathy in Crohn's disease.
