UV-visible absorption measurements have been applied to the study of t
he aggregation kinetics of the porphyrin t-H2Pagg in aqueous solution.
The temporal evolution of the spectra can be related to the time depe
ndence of the monomer concentration and the mean cluster size. Results
from the absorption experiments agree with the findings of previous l
ight scattering measurements, and with the current theoretical models
and molecular dynamics simulations of diffusion-limited aggregation ki
netics.
