Abstract
Density, viscosity and refractive index values for the dimethylsulfoxi de (DMS) + pyidine (P) system have been measured at 293.15, 298.15 303 .15 and 308.15 K, over the whole concentration range. Excess molar vol umes (V-E) excess viscosities (eta(E)), excess energies of activation for viscous flow (Delta G(E)) and excess molar refraction (R-E) have been calculated. The Prigogine-Flory-Patterson theory was used to pred ict V-E, Grunberg-Nissan, Katti-Chaudhri, and McAllister models were u sed to predict viscosity coefficients and Lorentz-Lorenz equations wer e used to predict R-E.
