A dynamic equilibrium between the dihydride trans-RuH2(dppm)(2) (1) an
d the hydride dihydrogen complex [(dppm)(2)HRu(H-2)](+)(OR)(-) in the
presence of phenol or hexafluoroisopropyl alcohol has been established
by H-1 NMR, and the thermodynamics of the reaction (namely Delta H=17
+/-3 kcal . mol(-1) and Delta S=75.8 eu in the case of phenol addition
