Nickel(II) complexes with N-heterocyclic carbenes are accessible throu
gh substitution of triphenylphosphine in NiX2(PPh3)(2) (X = Cl, Br) by
the free carbenes or by in situ deprotonation of the corresponding az
olium salts with Ni(OAc)(2) as the starting material. H-1 and C-13 NMR
as well as X-ray crystallographic data are discussed.
