Abstract
Efficient syntheses and enantioselective gas chromatography have confi rmed the structures and established the absolute stereochemistry of so me novel bicyclic lactones (tetrahydrofurofuranones) in species of par asitic wasps (Hymenoptera:Braconidae). The co-occurring gamma-lactones , octan-4-olide and dodecan-4-olide, have the (R)-configuration. (C) 1 997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
