Abstract
Basaloid squamous cell carcinoma (BSCC), a biologically high-grade var iant of squamous cell carcinoma, carries a grave prognosis. In this ar ticle, we describe a rare case of BSCC of the esophagus with metastasi s to the mandibular gingiva in a 63-year-old man. In addition, we prov ide a review of the relevant literature along with a discussion of the differential diagnosis.
