ELECTRONIC JOURNALS WITHIN LIBRARIES - A REPORT FROM THE ETH LIBRARY

A project launched in May 1996 at the ETH-Bibliothek Zurich (Main Libr ary of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich) offers users an increasing number of electronic fulltext journals via the internet. The homepage ''Elektronische Zeitschriften der ETH-Bibliothek'' provi des information concerning access regulations and gives users access t o fulltexts. The number of online versions of scholarly journals is gr owing exponentially and libraries need to consider how these titles ca n be presented to the public and integrated into the Library's collect ion. The project realized by the ETH-Bibliothek exemplifies how univer sity libraries can cope with this new challenge.
