Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a new set of tools for time-varying spectr al analysis: the pseudo affine Wigner distributions. Based on the affi ne Wigner distributions of J. and P. Bertrand, these new time-scale di stributions support efficient online operation at the same computation al cost as the continuous wavelet transform. Moreover, they take advan tage of the proportional bandwidth smoothing inherent in the sliding s tructure of their implementation to suppress cumbersome interference c omponents. To formalize their place within the echelon of the affine c lass of time-scale distributions (TSD's), we introduce and study an al ternative set of generators for this class.
