Some features of the intranuclear cascade evaporation model used in in
vestigating nuclear reactions at intermediate and low energies are dis
cussed. The possibility of appling the model to the calculation of exc
itation functions and total and differential nuclear reaction cross-se
ctions, over the entire energy range of the precompound exciton model
application, is demonstrated by means of the elucidation of the mechan
isms involved in intranuclear processes.
