An. Starodumov et al., ALL-FIBER POLARIZATION-INDEPENDENT NARROW-BAND WAVELENGTH-DIVISION MULTIPLEXER, Optics communications, 138(1-3), 1997, pp. 31-34
A polarization-independent wavelength-division multiplexer (WDM) based
on cross-splicing of a birefringent fiber in a Sagnac interferometer
is proposed. Thermal stability of the spectral characteristics is anal
ysed theoretically and experimentally. Wavelength tunability through t
he temperature variations at the rate of 1 nm/K is measured. Polarizat
ion-independent WDM with channel isolation better than 20 dB and bandw
idth of 0.5 nm is presented.
