Abstract
Pulsed dual beam thermal lens method is utilized to determine the ther mal diffusivity of sea water. A frequency doubled Q-switched Nd:YAG la ser is used as the heating source and an intensity stabilized He-Ne la ser to probe the transient thermal lens signal decay. The thermal diff usivity values of the sea water are found to vary with the salinity of seawater.
