es, and equipment). Martin Engineering, a mixed-mode manufacturer of s
olids handling systems and accessories, recently faced a similar chall
enge in its urethane parts molding department. In January 1997, compan
y management sponsored a world-class manufacturing initiative to addre
ss, among others, the urethane production unit at its plant in Neponse
t, Illinois.
