The Society for the Advancement of Women's Health Research is a nonpro
fit, nonpartisan organization committed to improving the health of wom
en through research. The Society teas founded in 1990 to bring nationa
l attention to the problem of the exclusion of women from clinical tri
als and the Meed for greater federal funding for diseases and conditio
ns prevalent in and unique to women. Today, the Society works closely
with members of the public and private sectors and academic institutio
ns to promote a women's health research agenda. The Society seeks to b
oth shape public policy and improve public and professional education.
