Ms. Phanikumar et Rl. Mahajan, NUMERICAL-ANALYSIS OF UNSTEADY THERMOSOLUTAL CONVECTION OVER A HORIZONTAL ISOTHERMAL CIRCULAR-CYLINDER, Numerical heat transfer. Part A, Applications, 33(7), 1998, pp. 673-700
The aim of the present article is to clarify the nature of interaction
between thermal and solutal buoyancy for flow over a horizontal, isot
hermal, circular cylinder. In a range of values of the buoyancy ratio
N (defined as the ratio of solutal to thermal Grashof numbers) an inte
resting ''biplume'' solution has been obtained in which an upward ther
mally driven flow coexists with a solutally driven downward flow. The
problem has been studied for air-naphthalene (Lewis number Le = 3.57)
and water-salt (Le = 100) binary systems.
