Yl. Wang et S. Komori, PREDICTION OF DUCT FLOWS WITH A PRESSURE-BASED PROCEDURE, Numerical heat transfer. Part A, Applications, 33(7), 1998, pp. 723-748
First, a pressure-based procedure is developed for the prediction of t
hree-dimensional steady incompressible flows using the general curvili
near coordinate system. bt this procedure, a nonstaggered grid is adop
ted, and the covariant velocity components are used as the main variab
les when solving the momentum equations. To validate the present algor
ithm, it is applied to predict the three-dimensional laminar flow irt
a 90 degrees bend with square cross section. The computed velocity dis
tributions are compared with the measurements and computations of othe
rs. Second, with the aid of the k-epsilon turbulence model, the proced
ure is applied to predict various duct flows. Time performances of var
ious wall functions are compared numerically.
