We analyze new high-temperature series expansions for the susceptibili
ty chi of the two-dimensional random-bond Ising ferromagnet with a sym
metric bimodal distribution of two positive couplings J(1) and J(2). B
y studying a wide range of coupling ratios J(2)/J(1) we obtain compell
ing evidence for a critical behavior of the form chi similar to t(-7/4
)\1n t\(7/8), as predicted theoretically by Shalaev, Shankar, and Ludw
ig.
