Jl. Lebowitz et al., RIGOROUS PROOF OF A LIQUID-VAPOR PHASE-TRANSITION IN A CONTINUUM PARTICLE SYSTEM, Physical review letters, 80(21), 1998, pp. 4701-4704
We consider particles in R-d, d greater than or equal to 2, interactin
g via attractive pair and repulsive four-body potentials of the Kac ty
pe. Perturbing about mean field theory, valid when the interaction ran
ge becomes infinite, we prove rigorously the existence of a liquid-gas
phase transition when the interaction range is finite but long compar
ed to the interparticle spacing.
