Cw. Wang et al., HYSTEROSCOPIC EXTRACTION OF A VAGINAL FOREIGN-BODY IN A CHILD, The Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, 3(3), 1997, pp. 443-444
A 3.5-year-old girl had a persistent, foul-smelling, blood-tinged vagi
nal discharge. She was initially treated for recurrent and persistent
vulvovaginitis, which resulted in no improvement. Vaginoscopy revealed
an intravaginal foreign body, which was removed successfully by hyste
roscopy. We believe hysteroscopy is sale, convenient, effective, and e
asy to perform, even in a child.
