Abstract
The mid-IR bulk optical constants for the lubricants Fomblin, Demnum S 200, 2001A and Krytox 16256N, as well as water, are determined by infr ared ellipsometric analysis using an Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) cell. The water optical constants closely match those found in other studies. In addition, the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric f unctions for all the fluids are self-consistent under Kramers-Kronig t ransformation. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
