Abstract
Late Miocene to Pliocene cooling-warming events and the intermittence of the Bering Land Bridge are reviewed based on previous publications. The first connection between the Pacific and Arctic Oceans in the Mio cene and the timing of the establishment of the sub-boreal Oyashio Cur rent in about 1 Ma in the Northern Pacific, are also discussed.
