Abstract
A series of water samples from Steamboat Creek, Nevada, was analyzed f or total mercury concentrations. Concentrations from these waters were 40 to 60 times higher than the pristine mountain streams entering the creek. The major source of the mercury entering Steamboat Creek is pr obably from gold/silver processing that took place in the 1960s.
