Abstract
In this paper, a numerical scheme based on the method of numerical int egration along bicharacteristics is developed for the numerical analys is of two-dimensional torsional stress wave propagation in layered tra nsversely isotropic cylinders. The distributions of the dynamic shear stresses in the vicinity of the junction of a layered transversely iso tropic cylinder are studied. Moreover, the stability and limitations o f the present scheme are investigated.
