L. Braun, EARLY AND LATE RESULTS FOLLOWING BILIODIG ESTIVE ANASTOMOSES RESP. TRANSDUODENAL PAPILLOTOMY IN BENIGN DISORDERS OF THE BILIARY-TRACT, Zentralblatt fur Chirurgie, 123, 1998, pp. 92-95
The results of a prospective study of 188 choledocho-duodenostomies, 5
1 choledocho-jejunostomies, and 114 transduodenal papillotomies in pat
ients with benign diseases are presented. The operations were performe
d between 1974 and 1997. The status of the patients was checked every
one to two years. During the same time period a total of 5128 patients
with benign disorders of the gall bladder or biliary tract was operat
ed upon. In consequence to the important progress of endoscopic diagno
stic and therapeutic options indications and methods of biliary surger
y have changed significantly. Open procedures at the choledochal duct,
biliodigestive anastomoses, and transduodenal papillotomies are recen
tly performed only in rare instances.
