Complex formation equilibria for triphenyltin(IV) with selected aminoa
cids and nucleotides having a variety of model functional groups were
studied. Stoichiometries and stability constants for the complexes for
med were determined by a potentiometric technique, in 75% dioxane-wate
r solution. Amino acids and nucleotides are bound to Ph3Sn(IV) as mono
dentates. The effect of the pK(a) of the amino acid on the stability c
onstant of its complex species was elucidated. Concentration distribut
