Abstract
A polymeric material containing Ag nanoparticles was formed by thermal annealing of silver nitrate dissolved in a polymer. Polyvinylalcohol and polyvinylpyrrolidone were used as polymer matrix. The composite ma terial was prepared as thin films by spin coating. Wi VIS spectroscopy was used to monitor the preparation. The formation of a sharp band at similar to 425 nm in the UV/VIS-spectra and ultrastructural changes ( as revealed by SEM and SFM) indicated the generation of nanoparticles.
