The effects of ultrasonic vibration on the flotational separation of s
yrup were tested with and without polyacrylamide (PAM), The results sh
ow that without PAM ultrasonic cavitation has a negative effect on flo
tational separation. However, in the presence of PAM, coagulation is s
timulated. Thus, the process can markedly improve the efficiency of fl
otational clarification of syrup, and reduce the amount of flocculant
required.
